I can't believe what I saw

I can't believe what I saw tonight. Dan Rather and 60 minutes not only did not retract the story, but even went and tried to use the secretary to corroborate the story. Again, they didn't talk to Killian's family. They didn't talk to Bush's roommate, or any of the other pilots in Bush's squadron. The one salient point that the secretary could comment on, that she did not type the documents, and they were likely forgeries, they glossed over.

The time for nice talking about CBS is past.

The time for giving anyone at CBS news the benefit of the doubt is over.

Now, we need to boycott all of Viacom's advertisers and shows(yes, all--"Everybody Loves Raymond", "King of Queens", and every other show, good or bad). We need a congressional investigation into the source of the forged memos. The forger, and their accomplice, CBS, is committing a fraud against the American people, with the goal of influencing a presidential election. I will not give Rather the benefit of the doubt. He is no longer a dupe, or even a willing dupe. He is an accomplice. Virtually every forensic examiner who has seen these documents, including many of CBS' own experts, believes they are forgeries. Only CBS News believes that they are not, and there is no rational reason for them to think they are real.

A crime has been committed. The cost of the crime is incalculable, since it is a crime against our entire system of government. It cannot go unanswered, and it must be investigated. I would say it should be investigated by other journalists, but that isn't good enough. People need to go to prison for what has been done.
